What’s good in the ‘hood?

This site is dedicated to showcasing the great places to hang out and spend time with friends and strangers in a Seattle neighborhood near you. The kinds of places filled with people wanting to get a feel for the true vibe of the city and looking for a unique experience. It’s also a celebration of all the things that make these neighborhoods unique. Additionally, you can find unique products made by local businesses geared toward expressing your love for these amazing neighborhoods below!

Walkin’ The Block…

The first installment in this series of neighborhood showcases is my favorite neighborhood/home…West Seattle! When it comes to natural diversity, West Seattle is tough to beat. Ranging from one of the few sandy ocean beaches in Washington state, Alki Beach, to a rainforest preserve right smack in the middle of a dense city neighborhood, Schmitz Preserve Park. You also have all the shops, restaurants and bars along a 3-mile stretch on California Avenue. Not to mention this is all just 5 miles away from a major metropolitan downtown. West Seattle has everything you need. Click the photos below to take a look at videos showcasing all the amazing hotspots in West Seattle…

West Seattle’s Natural Attractions

West Seattle has it all! On one hand you have the natural beauty, showcased by Alki Beach, Schmitz Preserve and the beautiful cityscape experienced via taking a walk, bike or drive down Harbor Avenue. There are few comparisons for West Seattle in terms of depth and quality of natural beauty. Not to mention the plethora of options for grabbing a drink, a bite or doing some shopping along Alki Beach or in one of the three “Junctions” in West Seattle (see below).

West Seattle’s Junctions

West Seattle is made up of several commercial centers, three of the main ones are referred to as Junctions. The smallest and furthest one south is the Morgan Junction, the middle and largest is Alaska Junction, and the furthest one north is the Admiral Junction. These Junctions are where most of the hustle and bustle, outside of Alki Beach, can be found. Tons of bars, restaurants and shops spread out all up and down California Avenue.
